Build-a-Home-Bar.com's Privacy Policy
Last Updated on 12.27.04
Build-a-Home-Bar.com recognizes and respects the privacy of our readers. We will never sell your personal information you have provided us with: which may include personal names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, ip addresses, or your website address with any 3rd party. Nor will we share demographic information that has accumulated in our server logs, and web counter.
The information that we may gather through forms on our website, or our server logs include: first and last name, email address, ip address, general information of where the ip is located, i.e. user786.ny.isp.com. We would not have the user name of the user, if they have just visited our internet website. Though, we would have the ip address which could be used for banning users who are spamming our link index, or abusing our contact form.
We do work with a number of 3rd party retailers, and miscellaneous websites. We strongly suggest that you read the 3rd party's website privacy policy to see how they use your information that they may gather. We are not responsible for the policies of any 3rd party website we may link to.
The only information on our website that is readily available to anyone is in our link directory, which is information that would be submitted by you or is considered internet public domain: such as a website's name, description, and address. Any personal information submitted to us by our link partners is closely guarded, and will never be shared with anyone.
We will disclose information we maintain when required to do so by law, for example, in response to a court order, or a subpoena. We also may disclose such information in response to a law enforcement agency's request, though we will always validate the identity of said officer in the event we are asked for such information.
You may have noticed that we do not provide an email address in the traditional sense of using an html link. We currently are using a PHP script designed to protect our email addresses from spam bots who scour the web looking for email addresses to add to their spam email lists. The PHP script will gather your email address, email subject, and the body of the message, and send it to us via a PHP script. Considering we use such scripts to protect our own email; it should give you an idea of how we feel about spam, and the protection of one's privacy on the internet. We hate unsolicited spam as much as anyone.
We now employ a web counter service which uses cookies, and also collects various demographic data about our users. No personally identifying information is gathered. For more information on the stat counter we are using to bring you a better experience here at Build a Home Bar, visit StatCounter.com.
StatCounter.com is a web service that has been counting visitors for webmasters for the last 5 years, and is among the top trusted webstat services online today. Please visit their Privacy Policy for info on the security of their service as it pertains to the cookie used, and how information is safely gathered to protect your identity.
We will announce changes to our privacy policy, or terms of service via our news section on the website, and via the email newsletter.
If you have any questions or comments, or wish to opt out of any service you may be subscribed to, use our contact form. We will usually respond within 24-48 hours, under most circumstances. We offer a solid, "no questions asked" policy as far as removal of your personal information from our services.
Thank you,
M.M. "Trey" Hocker III
