Home Bar Supply
Products to make your home bar a better place...
There are many cool products for the home bar owner, and we'll try to cover some of them in this article. Kegerators, desktop ice makers, drink recipe software for the PC/PocketPC, bar blades, shot molds, home brew products and tons more! So, let's get down to it...
Home Bar Necessities
Part of the fun of having a home bar is becoming a proficient bartender. Yeah, you could just sling beers out of a little fridge hid away behind your bar, but what fun would that be? Luckily for us, there's tons of stuff to make this job a heck of a lot more fun and easy!
One of the best investments for your home wet bar will be recipe books, or even software that has thousands of recipes stored on your PC or Palm/PocketPC. Drink recipe software for the home PC will have the option to print, which may be important to you. Some Pocket PC's offer options to print, but it can be a bulky, if not impossible, process. The number of online drink recipe repositories is growing every day. Check our resource section for links to some great websites. Most online beer and drink sites will include message boards that have communities where everyone shares recipes. They are also a fun place to chat, and get to know other home bar owners and bartenders. Maybe even swap photos of your home bar setup with the folks you meet online.
Of course, you can't forget to have the essentials: a heavy duty blender, cocktail shakers, bar blades for opening those tough bottle tops, drink coasters and coozies, various knives and utensils, and on and on! Manufacturer's have done some fun, creative things to lot's of items, and you don't necessarily have to buy the typical bar gear. Your bar should be a fun, and interesting atmosphere and the gadgets offered nowadays make it an easy process.
Drink coasters no longer have to be boring lil beer ads, you can have just about anything printed onto them, from your family crest, to just having your little home bar's name. Heck, why not name your home bar? Have custom neon lights with your bar's name, napkins, and custom glasses made... the possibilities are truly endless! Once again, have fun with this!
Wet Bar Storage
As far as storage goes, you can use all sorts of items to store cold drinks. I've seen some fellas turn old top-loading freezers into an awesome keg refrigerator. He changed the freezer's thermostat out and put in one to cool like a regular refrigerator. He has it loaded with 2 kegs and some small pony kegs of soda pop. Awesome use of resources there. Though, you may have to get a home appliance repairman or electrician to pull this one off safely. Let's not hurt ourselves on something that was supposed to be fun!
