Entertaining your Party Guests...

Having a home bar, and not throwing a party once or twice a year is probably illegal in some parts of the world. Parties, entertainment, and a fully stocked home bar just fit together like baseball, hot dogs, and the smell of fresh cut grass at the old ballpark!

Ok, so I'm going too far, but let's talk fun! Not building, or cleaning, or prepping the lemons for the folks who like to submerge a slice in their drink of choice... but entertaining the people you love! Yet, doing it safely, and better than anybody else you know. You are the party king, or queen... your reputation flows through the locale of your hometown. You are the one who throws parties like no other!

So, the question is... what makes a great party?

The "Vibe"
Unique items can bring a certain sense of excitement to your home bar, and entertainment center. You really don't want everyone stuck around a TV set, and just having people gravitating around a keg can be just as bad. So, how can you make this interesting for your guests? What is the secret to throwing the best parties? I believe it all has to do with the "vibe."

Believe it or not, the vibe isn't created by you, or your flashy personality. Though, sure having a funny, flashy personality can get you far, but it'll stop dead in it's tracks if there isn't certain items of interest in your home bar room. You can only take it so far, and that's why it's important to create a vibe with art on the walls, and even tabletop; accented with lighting designed to set the mood with music to match. Different colors are used for different vibes. Blue and Green are great for hawaaian style parties, while red, white and blue are great for July 4th, of course.

Sure, most of this is already basic knowledge when you think about it. Putting together a vibe for the party you're throwing should be a cinch! Though, if you're color blind, or can't match your clothes for nothing... bring in someone who can help out with the colors and design of your party vibe.


Music and the Dance Floor
Music is pretty much a given, but hey who says it has to be a rack of black rectangles with some round dials on the front? You can always buy your self an old style jukebox, and chunk a hundred CD's in there. They're fun, and your guests will love it!! Bye bye boring black rectangles...
