Home Bar Decor
Setting the vibe via lighting, art, and more...
Welcome to the Build-a-Home-Bar.com's Home Bar Decor Guide! Controlling the vibe of your home bar is very important to ensure your guests have a good time. Home bar decor can help you accomplish setting the mood at your party spot: here we'll talk about lighting, posters or pictures on your wall, and various other items to make your home bar unique, and a fun place to be!
Sure, some people will just gravitate to wherever the party is, but setting a mood in your home bar room should be very important to the owner. Also, the vibe should be set without the guests realizing it has been set! Subtle, yet creative and full of impact!
Themes, music, lighting are all very important parts of making people feel certain ways when in certain places; and you control that. You may even want your home entertainment area to be multi-faceted depending on the guests, or theme of the party. It should be easy to change it to whatever mood you want transferred to your guests.
Romantic type themes should be set up when alot of your friends may be single, and you're looking to be matchmaker, or it could be used for Valentine's Day parties, where couples could gravitate more towards each other. Obviously, you wouldn't want this design for the Super Bowl Sunday party, and that is why we mentioned using different pieces of decor for differing events, but don't make the transition too painful for yourself. Having you decor pieces somewhat organized, easy to setup, and take down is in your best interests.
Lighting Design
Lighting is so much more important than people realize in setting moods for your gathering. Dim lighting will generally be used for romantic type affairs; where in a professional setting, you may be meeting new business contacts, a little more lighting would be a better fit. Lighting can always be adjusted as the night goes on. Never just stick to a bright lit room when the mood of your guests calls for a dim, rocking party atmosphere. Be flexible, and use lighting that is flexible, as well. Some have even put christmas tree type lighting on the upper parts of the walls and ceiling. Which isn't all that expensive, but can be quite effective.
Lighting along the top of your home bar is always a nice touch, pointing towards the ceiling, you could even build the back wall mirror with lighting hidden behind a nice, stained board. Lights don't always have to be pointing towards the ground. Spruce it up a bit, do different things with your lighting. Some bar owners have also installed lighting underneath the marble, or boarding where the drinks will stand pointing down to the side of the bar.
